Miloslav's scholarship in Art-omi, an international art centre in New York State in 1999 was an important experience. The centre offers scholarships to artist from all around the world : that way I could meet and work with the colleagues from Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Cuba, Denmark, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, The Netherlands, Poland, Romania, Switzerland, Great Britain as well as from the United States.
The communication of cultures inspired Miloslav Fekar´s further development. During the residential scholarship at the centre, he created a series of four wooden conches with loopholes named "The Family"- they were presented at the end of his stay, and afterwards installed in the adjoining sculpture park. He also engaged himself in producing a range of small models that he used later (in larger dimension) for the Wandering project.
